Frank Stiffel was born in Boryslav, Poland, in 1916. He pursued medical studies in Italy, France, and Belgium before returning to Poland in 1939 to assist in student resistance movements. Following German occupation, he moved with his parents, brother, and sister-in-law to the Warsaw ghetto. The entire family was eventually deported to Treblinka, where his parents and sister-in-law were killed.
